Antique 19th Century Swiss Black Forest Carved Box, Lock & Key
A superb antique Swiss Black Forest hand carved walnut footed glove box or jewelry box with velvet lined interior and original working lock and key, circa 1870. This fine box has a lovely serpentine shape with hand bevelled edge, raised on hand turned feet, intricately carved with floral and foliate designs, and topped with a beaded oval center crowned with leaves and berries. It's perfect for jewelry and other special belongings and would also make a wonderful gift.
