19th Century Italian Majolica Jardiniere Planter on Pedestal Stand

$12,995.00

A stunning antique 19th Century Italian majolica jardiniere and accompanying stand in the style of Giorgio Andreoli (1470-1555). This show stopping piece is hand painted and decorated in the Renaissance style with arabesques, graffito, and floras in various polychrome colors on a white ground. The finely shaped jardiniere rests on a tripartite footed base which surmounts a matching pedestal with pierced panels supported on scrolled legs. One foot of the jardiniere is signed by the artist, marked with partial initials, the top of the stand with conjoined initials E or G. M. It would be lovely displayed indoors or outdoors.

The overall height stands at an impressive 40.75". The pedestal base is 24"W x 24"D x 21"H. The jardiniere is 17"W x 17"D x 19"H. The diameter of the opening is approximately 9".

Very good antique condition with minor wear consistent with age and an old professional repair to the underside of the jardiniere's rim.
